Tringas Free Ice Cream Day
In 1940, at the urging of Liza Jackson, Jimmy Tringas left Pensacola to start a movie theater business in Fort Walton at the age of twenty. Jimmy and Kathryn lived on Main Street; part of a neighborhood that included a few more small cottages, their theater, Staff's Cafe, Miramar Hotel and Beauty Shop, a barbershop, clothing store, post office, Roberts' Drugs, Spanish Villa Nightclub, Farin's 5 & 10, Clyde Meigs Hardware and the Magnolia Club.
